August 21, 2020President Donald Trump’s Postmaster General Louis DeJoy acknowledged delays in mail delivery Friday but defended changes made at the agency amid criticisms the moves would hinder the delivery of mail-in ballots in November’s election.
DeJoy abruptly paused operational changes at the U.S. Postal Service Tuesday after drawing strong objections from Democrats and Republicans over the Postal Service’s cost-cutting measures, which Democrats in Congress said included cuts in overtime and other steps that have led to mail delivery delays.
