Postal Service Searches For Suspects In 2 Incidents, Adds $50,000 Reward

Two U.S. Postal Service employees were victims of robbery and assault in incidents in Vineland and Fairfield Township in the last six weeks, prompting the federal agency to post $50,000 bounties on their unidentified assailants.

The Postal Service is working a joint investigation with city police in the Vineland incident. It intends to prosecute anyone caught in federal court, according to Postal Inspector Team Leader Alex Sylvester.

“This is the only second occurrence we had in Cumberland County over the past year and the other occurrence wasn’t assault,” Sylvester said. “They, actually, just took postal property from the letter carrier.”
