Higher U.S. Postal Service Rates Start Today, July 9: USPS Details

Beginning Sunday, July 9, the cost of mailing a letter is a little more expensive, but how much that hits you in the wallet will depend on how many stamps you already have.

New rates for the U.S. Postal Service increased the cost of a stamp for a 1-ounce letter from 63 cents to 66 cents, as of today (July 9). The price of a book of 20 Forever Stamps increased by 60 cents today.

But if you already have Forever Stamps, you won’t feel the impact of the price increase right away.
