Mr. Cihota discussed, “Update for Measuring Pension and Retiree Health Benefits Liabilities,” an audit report published by the OIG on May 2, for which he served as lead author.
The sobering report analyzes Postal Service pensions and retiree health benefits liabilities and assets projections, and the likely impacts, including for taxpayers, of various proposals to modify the agency’s retiree benefits, such as HR 756, the Postal Service Reform Act of 2017.
